Each one has more than 50 recipes for drinks, appetizers, main dishes, side dishes and desserts, part of a series with two dozen books on Southern ingredients and occasions.

What if...your English teacher knew you WERE using "was" in a sentence like that?
Thank you, Michael. Remember: In space, no one can hear you correct his or her grammar.
It's an interesting idea, but it still seems like a solution in search of a problem. Right now, making a shopping list and coming up with recipe ideas for a couple of different ingredients really isn't terribly burdensome!
I'd recommend we funnel our research efforts into a kitchen counter that would clean itself after I finish cooking. THAT's something I would shell out some bucks for.
