Salmonella: A terrible way to fly

Why is it good news that Continental will no longer serve complimentary pretzels? Because I had just finished reading this report on all the bacteria crawling in those tiny little airplane lavatories. Seriously, do you want to put food in your mouth on board a plane? Pack hygiene wipes. Lots and lots of wipes.

Probably the same. I've been working on a story that deals with food safety and one of the surprising bits of information is how well bacteria thrive on plastic. And all forms of mass transit feature lots and lots of plastic surfaces.

So does that mean the plastic gloves food prep and servers wear have a good chance of breeding contaminents instead of protecting us from them? Hmmm
