It's an interesting idea, but it still seems like a solution in search of a problem. Right now, making a shopping list and coming up with recipe ideas for a couple of different ingredients really isn't terribly burdensome!
I'd recommend we funnel our research efforts into a kitchen counter that would clean itself after I finish cooking. THAT's something I would shell out some bucks for.
